Maye-Williams Active: From one-time use to repeat users — project walkthrough
From one-time use to a product people came back to
★★★★★
“People did like the product, but they only used it once or twice. We kept talking about adding more features, but the review made it obvious that we had not given them a reason to come back.”

01 Problem

What was not working

People were trying the product once, getting some value, then leaving. The issue was not that the product was bad. The issue was that nothing pulled users back after the first session. Every week, the team was looking at new feature ideas, but the bigger problem was simpler: the product had not yet become part of the user’s routine.

02 What we found

The real issue

The core product was useful, but the return moment was weak. Users understood what it did, but they were not being reminded, guided, or given a strong enough reason to use it again. The part needing attention was not the whole platform. It was the gap between first value and repeat use.

03 The fix

What we changed

We kept the parts that already worked and focused on the moments around them. The goal was not to rebuild the product. It was to make the product easier to return to. We improved the flow after the first use, added clearer prompts for what to do next, and shaped the experience around repeat actions instead of one-off completion. That made the product feel more useful without making it heavier.

04 What we built

The outcome

A clearer product loop that gave users a reason to come back. The platform still felt simple, but now it supported repeat use instead of relying on users to remember it on their own.

Maye-Williams Active: From one-time use to repeat users — what we built

05 Result

Maye-Williams Active became less of a one-time tool and more of a product users could build into their routine.
